A Sussex man and a Colgate man are charged with breaking into a Waukesha gas station.
The two men accused of burglarizing Hop It Market, 1610 Lincoln Ave., possibly caused $100,000 in damage when they pulled the fire alarm, according to a criminal complaint. Marcel A. Bois, 29, of Sussex, and Michael J. Demont, 25, of Colgate, were each charged with burglary and felony criminal damage to property. Bois also faces a misdemeanor bail jumping charge. According to the criminal complaint: The gas station’s owner saw two individuals with black ski masks trying to access the safe via his remote cameras at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday. An 18-year-old is facing possible jail time for his participation in a burglary at his friend's mother's home.
An 18-year-old Sussex teen was charged last week in connection to a burglary that occurred at home in Menomonee Falls. Napolean Jones, 18, of Sussex, was charged last week with receiving stolen property after a July 2011 home burglary. Jones could be imprisoned for up to 9 months and be fined up to $10,000. According the criminal complaint: Jones woke up around 5 p.m. on July 3, 2011 and drove to a home on Oakridge Trail in Menomonee Falls. Jones met with two friends, and they planned enter a home which belonged to the mother of one of his friends. The plan was to obtain clothing items from the home, but they got more than that. The man who robbed Sussex’s associated bank in July is still on the loose, so is there a connection with the Menomonee Falls robbery?
The man who attempted to rob Sussex’s Associated Bank on Main Street in July is still on the loose, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department said Monday. Detective Steve Pederson says he has faith the man behind the crime will be taken into custody, but refused to comment further. “Detectives are following up on leads, but we’re really not going to say too much else about that,” Pederson said. “The capture rate in finding those responsible for bank robberies – we’re generally pretty successful.” Pederson’s update comes on the heels of an armed bank robbery in Menomonee Falls on Friday where two masked black men made off with an undisclosed amount of money. Suspect tells police he vaguely remembers being in a home, but tells his brother he stole a $13,000 check from a home.
A 35-year-old Sussex man is facing charges after he broke into a Town of Oconomowoc home after a night of drinking with friends. Bryan M. Kinikin was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of burglary. If convicted, he faces up to 12 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On April 5, a man living in the W34100 block of Jaeckles Drive called police after he woke up and found Kinikin inside his home. The local bar was burglarized Friday morning, but police are staying mum about the details until they discover more details.
Abler's Whiskey Corners, the local bar sitting on the edge of Menomonee Falls and Sussex, was burglarized Friday morning. Multiple Menomonee Falls officers were at the scene gathering evidence, but according to Lt. Chad Miller of the Menomonee Falls Police Department, its too early to release any information about the burglary. "Yes, there was a burglary this morning," Miller said. "I can't say anything else because it's still in the early stages of the investigation. We'll probably be able to release more information sometime next week." A 23-year-old Hartland man is facing charges after he allegedly burglarized a Sussex home in October. Kyle A. Steinbrecher was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of burglary and one count of theft. If convicted, he faces up to 13 years in prison and $35,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Oct. 30, Steinbrecher went into a home in the N6600 block of Bowling Green Street and took a purse off a table while the residents were asleep. The purse contained cash, a wallet and a bottle of Oxycodone. Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 3:45 p.m. Police were called to the W239N5800 block of Hastings Court on Tuesday after someone hit a Sussex-owned fire hydrant with their car, snapping it off at the base. According to the report, the accident occurred between Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28. The wreck caused $500 in damage to the hydrant. There were no witnesses of the actual accident, no suspects and the police are not actively investigating. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 9:51 a.m. A 46-year-old Sussex woman called police after three snowboards were stolen from her house on the W232N5800 block of Waukesha Avenue.
