PHOTO: Spring Fest Breakfast Proceeds Given to Sussex Outreach

After more then 200 residents flocked to the early morning breakfast, more than $700 was raised to help those less fortunate in the area.

Representatives from George Webb Restaurant of Sussex and Hamilton High School National Honor Society recently donated $735.17 to Sussex Outreach Services. The donation came after an extremely successful community fundraising event that kicked off Spring Fest. George Webb employees prepared the breakfast and NHS members sold advance tickets and volunteered as hosts and servers at the event. More than 200 community members enjoyed a hot, delicious breakfast while supporting the work of SOS. Students from Hamilton's NHS gathered around area leaders like SOS Director Jennifer Waltz and George Webb Manager Cece Arnold for a snapshot documenting their hard work. Spring Fest Breakfast Planned to Benefit Food Pantry

George Webb and Hamilton's National Honor Society are hosting the event.

Families and community members are invited to celebrate the kick-off of Spring Fest on March 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. by attending a breakfast that will benefit Sussex Area Outreach Services. Hamilton High School’s National Honor Society will host a hot, delicious breakfast prepared by George Webb restaurant in Sussex. Proceeds will be donated to the Sussex Food Pantry. The buffet-style breakfast will feature scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, Danishes, toast, juice, milk and coffee served in the Hamilton High School cafeteria. Advanced tickets are $7 for adults and children age 12 and older, $4 for children ages 4-11, and free for children younger than 4 years. M & M Restaurant Celebrates a Half Century of Business in Sussex

Breakfast and lunch specials have highlighted the friendly neighborhood dining experience at M & M Restaurant in Sussex for 50 years.

Back in 1961, there weren’t a whole lot of eating establishments to choose from in Sussex. However, a certain restaurant established 50 years ago became a popular place to gather, eat and socialize in town. Today, the M & M Restaurant maintains that same inviting atmosphere at the same location on Main Street near Highway 74. “For many years, we were one of the few restaurants in town so it was the gathering spot for a lot of the guys in the morning,” said Didier Babits, M & M’s current owner. “We’re strictly breakfast and lunch and are probably known more for breakfast than anything else.” Babits’ parents, Steve and Nicole, purchased the business 33 years ago and he’s been involved in the business off and on for more than 20.
