The Chamber is transforming Boneyard Pub & Grille into a casino for one night only.

The Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Chamber dinner on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Boneyard Pub and Grille in Sussex. To add some excitement to this year’s event, the Chamber will be featuring a Casino Extravaganza.   The evening’s activities commence at 6:30 pm with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres with casino gaming beginning at 7:00 p.m.   This event is open to the public and many sponsorship opportunities are available, including “Be the Dealer”, which provides a great opportunity for employers to treat their staff to a fun night out while trying to “beat the boss” at their private gaming table. “We’re excited to offer something a little different at this year’s annual Chamber dinner,” says Sharon Loftus, owner of …

POLL: Which New Business do You Like Best?

Sussex saw several new businesses open in 2011, and Patch is wondering which places have already become favorites.

Editor's Note: This article was updated to include Fitness Revolution. A number of new businesses opened during 2011 in Sussex, and while each addition brings value to the community, it's likely a favorite or two have surfaced. Have you made up your mind yet? Let us know in the poll below. Here's a recap of what's opened in 2011: After Seigo's Japanese Steakhouse filed for bankruptcy, Boneyard Pub & Grille swooped in as Sussex's latest bar & grill-themed restaurant.  The less-than-popular restaurant Hardees closed its doors leaving a vacant building for Rumors Sports Bar & Grill to open. Featuring 25 TVs, this bar must be someone's new favorite business. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, this new business really makes it hard to …

Rumors is my favorite place to hang out. Best burger you can find in Sussex and the wraps are good too. They keep it very clean and there are TVs everywhere. They had issues when they first opened with wait times but most places do at first.   more ›

PHOTOS: Boneyard Pub & Grille Now Open

The long awaited new restaurant has quietly opened its doors with a grand opening celebration slated for the near future.

It was approved by the Village Board in June, owners were interviewed by Patch in July and rumors of plans to open in August proved false. But now, Boneyard Pub & Grille has finally opened its doors to customers. The restaurant first had a soft opening on Nov. 16 to work out all the kinks, and then officially opened its doors on Black Friday to customers. While no grand opening has been planned, the business says one is still in the works. A grand opening, however, hasn’t stopped eager customers from noticing the restaurant opened. Employees say once the electronic sign read “Now Open,” people started pouring in. The pub & grille itself has three bars, two dining areas, two private banquet areas and enough high-tech gadgetry to make any …

I'm just happy to see more options in Sussex. I also very happy to see that these are more "LOCAL" small businesses than the big chains that could be coming in here. Best of luck to them! Jim Naatz - Owner, Fitness Revolution Sussex   more ›

The American Dream Isn't Dead...But It's Changing

Starting today, Patch sites nationwide will chronicle the pursuit of the dream - and the obstacles to achieving it - in an ongoing series of stories.

When Laura McCarthy opened up a new business in Sussex in the middle of the worst economy since the Great Depression, there undoubtedly were those who questioned her decision. But McCarthy, owner of the Sips n Strokes store on Executive Drive,  opened her doors in March and is going strong. She's pursuing the American Dream. So is Jim Jones, a restaurateur who is opening the new Boneyard Pub & Grille on Main Street. Jones, who started his first Boneyard in Mukwonago in 2007 and planned to open a second shortly thereafter, had his dreams derailed because of the bad economy. But he's back...and the new Sussex restaurant is set to open this fall. Yes, the American Dream - opening your own business, owning a home, saving for retirement or …

The Boneyard Pub & Grille Plans to Open in Sussex

Restaurant, which has a location in Mukwonago, would offer wings, burgers and other fare.

The Boneyard Pub & Grille is looking to open up a location in Sussex at the former Seigo’s Steakhouse at N64W23180 Main St. Jim Jones, owner of The Boneyard, said he’s planning to open up a location by August, if he gains approval from village officials. He said the Sussex restaurant would have the same menu as the location at 215 Bay View Rd., Mukwonago. “It’s a very similar town as Mukwonago,” Jones said of his decision to choose Sussex. “We like the western suburbs and it fits our cliental well. Plus, with the schools close by it would fit well because we do a lot of stuff with them. “We also thought (our restaurant) is something they were lacking up there, so it’s a good fit," he added. The Boneyard offers a wide variety of menu …
