Runaway Sussex Bank Robber Still at Large

The man who robbed Sussex’s associated bank in July is still on the loose, so is there a connection with the Menomonee Falls robbery?

The man who attempted to rob Sussex’s Associated Bank on Main Street in July is still on the loose, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department said Monday. Detective Steve Pederson says he has faith the man behind the crime will be taken into custody, but refused to comment further. “Detectives are following up on leads, but we’re really not going to say too much else about that,” Pederson said. “The capture rate in finding those responsible for bank robberies – we’re generally pretty successful.” Pederson’s update comes on the heels of an armed bank robbery in Menomonee Falls on Friday where two masked black men made off with an undisclosed amount of money. UPDATE: Police Respond to Armed Robbery at PNC Bank

Little is known at this point, but police have confirmed an armed robbery occurred at the location.

A second armed robbery in a week has occured in Falls. According to Menomonee Falls Police Capt. Mark Waters, there was an armed robbery at the bank at  3:28 p.m. Friday. Waters said two black males entered the bank and implied that they had a weapon. Both men had their faces covered with handkerchiefs. The man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot toward Lime Kiln Park. The Federal Bureau of Investigation overheard Falls radio traffic and assisted with the call. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the bank, but the suspects remain at large. Witnesses in the area were told to stay in their homes, and armed officers patrolled the area near Lime Kiln Park, Appleton Avenue, and Mill Street. A…

Suspect in Associated Bank Robbery Still At Large

FBI has been called in to investigate incident, but nobody was injured and no money apparently was taken.

Authorities are still searching for a man who attempted to rob the Associated Bank in Sussex on Saturday morning and then fled on foot, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said Sunday. A spokesman for the department declined to give more information on the case, saying the investigation is "vigorous and ongoing." However, a report released Sunday by the City of Waukesha Police Department did provide some more details on the robbery attempt. The incident happened at about 8 a.m. — an hour before the bank at Main Street and Silver Spring Drive opened. The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s who as about 5 feet 4 inches tall with a beard, and wearing all black clothing, according to the report. The suspect, who was also …

Sussex's Associated Bank Burglarized; Suspect May Be at Large

Employees at the bank walked in on a burglar Saturday morning, and, according to sources, police have yet to locate the man. Sheriff's Department in mum on what happened.

Sussex’s Associated Bank, located at the corner of Main Street and Silver Spring Drive, was burglarized at about 8 a.m. Saturday, and employees apparently caught the man red-handed before he fled. Kathy Kalis, owner of Ta Da Salon, located across the street from the bank, snapped photos of Waukesha County sheriff's deputies surrounding the building as they attempted to catch the man in the act. However, the man may have slipped through their fingers. “He was apparently in there when the two early girls working got to the bank,” said an onlooker, who asked to remain anonymous. “They just walked in on him. Sussex Bank Robbers Committed, Jailed

The man and woman who attempted to rob a Sussex bank in March are either going to jail or being committed for being incompetent.

After months of court appearances, the two people who attempted to rob Sussex’s Associated Bank in March are about to serve some time – but not necessarily in jail. Krystal Y. Kompsi, 28 of Sussex, was found guilty of two counts of theft on Monday and now faces nine months of jail time and four years of probation. She originally faced up to 15 years in prison and $50,000 in fines, but after making a plea deal, Kompsi's charges were lowered from armed robbery to misdemeanor theft charges.  However, Mark H. Scott, 31 of Milwaukee, isn’t going to jail. A doctor examined Scott and concluded that he not competent enough to even stand trial at this time, so he was committed to the Department of Health Services. He sentencing will be readdressed …

Two Accused of Attempted Bank Robbery Bound Over for Trial

The two people taken into custody after attempting to rob the Associated Bank in Sussex are now bound over for trial. They'll be back in court May 2.

The man and woman accused of attempting to rob the Associated Bank in Sussex are now bound over for trial, meaning there's probable cause a felony has been committed. While Krystal Y. Kompsi, 28, waived her preliminary hearing, Mark H. Scott, 31, didn't. However, both will now proceed to trial in Waukesha County Circuit Court on May 2 with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with threat of force. If convicted, they each face up to 15 years in prison and $50,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: Scott entered the Associated Bank about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. UPDATE: Two in Custody After Morning Bank Robbery

The area around Associated Bank was on lockdown after a man and woman's behavior suggested attempted robbery. Nobody was injured.

An attempted robbery at Associated Bank Wednesday morning leads to a 31-year-old man and 28-year-old woman in custody at the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.  Nobody was injured, but information from police says evidence was found on the man that suggested he planned to rob the bank. The report didn't specify if it was a weapon. Police were called to the bank at 9:16 a.m. as onlookers watched a flood of police cars storm down Main Street to the intersection at Orchard Drive.  Detective Steve Pederson at the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said a male and female are now in custody for the attempted robbery.  Pederson released an official statement late Wednesday afternoon saying a man "dressed in a large winter jacket wearing …

How will they convict the guy if he didn't actually attempt to rob the bank? I don't think he can be convicted merely for thinking about robbing the bank. Perhaps there will be some other weapons charge.   more ›
