The fire is leaving employees and the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department looking for an answer as to what caused the blaze.
A Monday morning fire at Kelly's Greenscapes on Waukesha Avenue near Main Street completely totaled three cars and caused significant heat damage to a fourth. Firefighters received a call at 6:17 a.m. saying there was a car on fire in the business' parking lot, but while driving to the scene, they were notified another one was up in flames and ready to take over a third vehicle. Deputy Fire Chief Tony Emanuele said by the time firefighters got there, all three cars were completely totaled with a fourth vehicle suffering from heat damage because it was so close. Menomonee Falls firefighters extinguish a blaze that started in the basement of an eight-unit apartment building; arson investigation under way.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of a fire in an apartment building on Cleveland Avenue Thursday afternoon. Evidence from the scene indicate this fire was no accident, however. "We have Menomonee Falls fire investigators on scene, along with the Menomonee Falls Police Department," said Falls Fire Chief Jeffrey Hevey from the scene. "We have reason to believe that the fire wasn't an accident." Hevey said the fire call came in at 3:57 p.m. in the basement of the eight-unit apartment building at N89W15373 Cleveland Ave. First responders were on the scene just four minutes later.
