SOS appreciates the chance to promote this special fundraiser. We have already held sign ups forRead More shoes, over the last month, for our pantry clients. We have oveer 130 kids in need of new shoes for back to school, which equals $3300. Working closely with the wonderful store manager of the Sussex Shopko, Pat Boetcher, we have found the best possible price on many great shoes. Shopping begins this Friday at the Sussex Shopko. Any donation is appreciated as we strive to meet our goal of $3300. Thank you- Jennifer Waltz, Executive Director of SOS

Born Learning is a United Way initiative that recognizes children learn from the moment they areRead More born. Parents, guardians, educators and others who care for young children understand that the early years are important, but many are looking to encourage early learning prior to school. Born Learning Trails are 10 signs which provides parents, grandparents, caregivers and the community with specific, “do-able” activities that are fun and easy which promotes early learning for young children. This series of learning activities is now at Weyer Park, which is strategically placed next to the Pauline Haass Library.

Very cool to be a part of this. The people from the Roundy's Foundation were incredibly nice,Read More everyone pitched in to help us load up the cars. Then, store manager at the Sussex Pick-N-Save, Jeff and assistant store manager, Rick, both drove over to the food pantry to help us unload the cars and fill the shelves. Thank you!!

This is a great idea. Other faith based organizations should do fund raisers like this to helpRead More support local food banks rather than depend on govenment funding. It seems as though we as Americans have gotten away from helping each other thru civic and faith based organizations. Kudos to the Life Church.
