Your description of Marv's has several errors. Marv has been dead for quite a few years. They do not offer shaves at Marv's. I don't believe they accept credit cards either. I believe they are closed on Mondays. They recently let their best barber go because she was considering her own shop, even though she had a lease agreement.

Marv's Barber Shop is the kind of old-fashioned barber shop that is hard to come by these days. The late Marv Fonder was a well-known barber who specialized in traditional haircuts. His innovative sign still alerts potential customers of how long your wait will be for a haircut from the barbers who rent a chair from his widow from which to do business. The unique sign illuminates either "No Wait," "20 Minutes," "30 Minutes" or "40 Minutes." Marv's barber shop is located on Main Street in downtown Sussex, east of the triangle intersection with Silver Spring, next door to the Youth Hall.

With the new barber, "medium" means "very short". I was told the other barbers "...were let go."
'Customer since '76. Lots of turnover after Marv (RIP) left us.
