<p>Founded in 1843, five years before Wisconsin became a state, the First Baptist Church of Merton has built a striking church on thirteen acres on one of the highest hilltops in the area.</p> <p>The church sold its previous worship home that it occupied from 1855 to 2009 to the Village of Merton for a community center.</p> <p>The gospel-based church's new facility includes flexible worship space, classrooms, meeting space and a fellowship hall that is outfitted with kitchen facilities and can seat nearly 250 people.</p>
