A Beer Festival For Beer Nuts, And It's Saturday

On last check, Wisconsin is home to just a few beer drinkers.

Understatement aside, Menomonee Falls will play host to the World of Beers Festival on Saturday, and there are still tickets available.

Well over 100 brewers and home brewers will dish out samples of more than 200 varieties of sudsy creations from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the Schwabenhof Pavilion, N56W14750 Silver Spring Dr.

The Milwaukee Beer Barons, the group organizing the event, will celebrate its tenth anniversary of hosting the brew festival this year. The World of Beer Festival, or dubbed, “The Best Beer Festival You’ve Never Heard Of,” is a limited access event. As of May 28, there were just 75 general admission tickets and 15 Very Interesting Beers (VIB) admission tickets remaining.

“This is definitely a festival for the beer lover - this has been our club's labor of love and we are proud to celebrate our 10th anniversary this year,” said Erin Anderson, World of Beer Marketing Director. “Several local breweries will have special beers available as part of our 10th anniversary celebration. We have many special trappings planned throughout the festival.”

General admission is $45, and that will get you a tasting glass and unlimited sodas and bottled water. VIB tickets are $65 and grant unlimited beer samples, additional intriguing beers to taste. Designated drivers are admitted free of charge. You canpurchase tickets online from the Beer Barons.

But a beer festival isn’t complete without music and food, right? New this year, the Schwabenhof will be cooking its famous pig roast for the event, as well as rotisserie chicken, brats, Rollbraten, and barbeque beef. Rockin’ Johnny and Friends will provide the tunes, and several beer experts will speak and share their knowledge.

If your interest has been piqued, you can learn more about the event from the Beer Barons themselves online. Or, view the complete list of brewers and beers.
