Woodside Students Having Fun with Their Run
Students will do laps around the school Friday in order to raise money for the Home & School Organization.
students are looking to help their school programs while fundraising in a less traditional way.
Students at the school will participate in the first annual Woodside Fun Run during their lunch period Friday to raise money for the school’s Home & School Organization and break from the traditional fundraising efforts of selling pizza and wrapping paper.
“We feel strongly that we’re taking the idea of school fundraisers in a positive direction, and are hoping that we can be a great example for other schools that may be considering similar events,” run coordinator Kristin Kebis said.

All 673 students at the school will run laps around the school with each grade running in 15 minute periods between 11:20 a.m. and 12:40 p.m.
Students will be eligible for prizes during the run, and the Milwaukee Brewers Klemet’s Racing Sausages and Scoopie, the mascot for Culver’s, will pay a visit to the event.

The fundraiser will help the Home & School Organization which in turn helps programs at the school. The run is also being used to promote wellness with the students.
Organizers want to raise $16,000 from the event. All proceeds collected by students will go to the Home & School Organization.
