VIDEO: Sussex's Heat Athletics Cheerleading Places in Worlds

The Sussex-based cheerleading team nicknamed Firestorm took 8th place at the world competition. There were 55 top-level teams from around the globe competing.

, the Sussex-based cheerleading and tumbling group, sent their team Firestorm to the 2012 Cheerleading Worlds competition and stole 8th place.

There were 55 of the best senior, level-five teams from around the world competing against Firestorm, so both employees and the team are beaming with excitement about their 8th place finish.

"This is quite a big deal as hundreds, if not thousands, of teams from all over the country attempt to qualify each year," said Gary Joers, manager of Heat Athletics. "Firestorm not only qualified, but placed 8th. To say the least, all of us are super excited!"

And the team's Facebook page was a frenzy with excitement about the big finish. The business posted photos and videos of the competition, and with nearly 750 Facebook fans, the wave of comments poured in.

"To say the least, all of us are super excited!"

"Heat Athletics Firestorm 8th place out of 55 of the best small senior level 5 teams in the world," the business wrote on "Amazing job Firestorm!!! What a great way to end the season - we're all so proud of you!"

"Congratulations FIRESTORM!" wrote Beth Dauer. "Wooohooo! Congrats!" added Carrie Schrofer Duck.

The business says it's also excited to announce that they are planning to have two teams qualify and compete in the 2013 Cheerleading Worlds.
