Templeton's Watton Earns Outstanding Teacher of the Year Recognition

Rhonda Watton earned recognition for her exceptional abilities in the classroom through effective instructional strategies and creative use of instructional materials.

Templeton Middle School social studies teacher Rhonda Watton is the 2013 recipient of the Outstanding Middle Level Social Studies Teacher of the Year from the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS). 

The annual NCSS Outstanding Teacher of the Year Awards recognize social studies teachers who show exceptional abilities in the classroom through effective instructional strategies and creative use of instructional materials. The award honors social studies teachers who foster a spirit of inquiry and 
the development of information and decision-making skills.

The award will be presented Nov. 22 during the NCSS Annual Conference in St. Louis. Founded in 1921, NCSS is the largest U.S. association devoted to providing leadership, service and support for all social studies educators.
