A number of technology projects were successfully completed this summer throughout the schools, according to a report by the 's technology manager last week to the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
Technology Manager Ryan McMillan told the committee the district has completed its third phase of a network infrastructure upgrade and has embarked on several upgrades of storage, security and of a new back-up system.
Technology initiatives have also included segmenting and fire-walling the wireless network to allow students and staff to attach their own devices.
McMillan also noted that the online summer school registration was a success, 25 SMART board projections had been installed, 300 desktops and laptops had been replaced or installed and 4,200 help desk trouble tickets from staff had been resolved.
