Hamilton Students Raise Thousands of Dollars for American Heart Association

Templeton raised over $2,300 this year for the association by jumping rope for the heart.

Templeton Middle School students helped raise $2,338 by completing the Jump Rope for Heart and Heart for Hoops to benefit the American Heart Association.

The event started as a “Red Out” spirit day, and the students and staff were encouraged to wear red clothing to show awareness of heart disease and stroke, according to a news release from the Hamilton School District web site. It ended with a basketball tournament after school, in which students formed their own teams and competed for fun against other teams.

Staff participated by placing money in a basket and filling out hearts with names of people affected by heart disease or stroke.
