Hamilton Ranked Top Place to Work

The Hamilton School District was ranked one of the top places to work in Southeastern Wisconsin, and with competitors like Rockwell Automation and Sargento Foods Inc., district officials are beaming with pride.

The was listed among the best places to work in southeastern Wisconsin in the May 20 publication, “The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplaces.

With just 507 employees, Hamilton barely squeezed into the category of "Top Large Workplaces" which only considers businesses with over 500 employees. However, that didn't stop the district from snagging the No. 12 spot, and with competing businesses reaching upwards of 8,000 employees, Hamilton representatives were honored.

"There were 188 businesses identified in the competition, and we were ranked number 12 out of 23 large organizations in our category," Hamilton Superintendent Kathleen Cooke said. "We were competing with companies like Rockwell Automation and Children’s Hospital, so we’re very honored and believe that this is a remarkable accomplishment."

Evaluation for the Top Workplaces program is based on feedback from an anonymous employee survey conducted by an independent research firm. With 459 respondents to the survey, Hamilton had an outstanding 91 percent response rate among all employees. This is also the first time the district has made the list.

"Being named a Top Workplace is a great honor, and confirms what so many of us know to be true: Hamilton is truly an outstanding school district," Hamilton Spokesperson Denise Lindberg told the Sussex Sun. "In the past, the district has been recognized for excellence for its , , , , leadership and more. We feel proud to be part of a capable, professional team that achieves on so many levels and serves the needs of our students and community."
