Art Student of the Month: Morgan Eberhardy

This month, Hamilton High School student Morgan Eberhardy's art is in the spotlight.

Every month Sussex Patch highlights the artistic talents of one of Hamilton High School's creative students. This month, Morgan Eberhardy is in the spotlight. Here's a statement about her art:

"I have taken many art classes since I was in elementary school. Even though the art classes weren’t that technical it was still something that I really enjoyed. In middle school I took an art class every single year but I took a break my freshman year from art. My sophomore year I had Art Survey at HHS. This was the class that inspired me to start taking art classes again. In my junior year I took Stained Glass because it’s the one class I always wanted to take since middle school. My senior year I took Graphic Arts 1, Graphic Arts 2 and Advanced Stained Glass. Last but not least I am taking Design Drawing and Color Theory at WCTC.

After high school I am going to attend the University of Wisconsin – Stout for their graphic design program. I found that this school has a large number of courses to choose from, which was important to me. I plan on taking many different art classes to try out all kinds of art. I want to try to include glass in the work I do there to show and to teach other people how to work with glass. After school I still want to continue my art and find a studio to make my art.

The best experience I had with art was when I drew a portrait of Harry Styles in graphite pencils. With this project I released a lot of my inner self into the work and created something special. It made me realize that I can create anything that I want and gave me confidence. When I draw it helps me relax and go somewhere quiet where I can get away from all the stress. It made me realize that I can create anything that I want and gave me confidence.

I think each artist I look at inspires me in one way or another. There will be a couple of pieces I will be inspired by, but then I don’t like the rest of there work. Some of my work borrows ideas from artist but I mostly create my own artwork. I also like to use reference photos to create the true representation. However there is one person that has really inspired me and that has been my art teacher Mrs. Belot. She has done a lot in the art industry and it really motivates me to full fill my dreams."
