A Thanksgiving Turkey Trot and Food Drive at Woodside

Students and their families learn about health while donating food for the holidays.

Students at were joined by their parents Saturday to tackle the school’s Turkey Trot, a walk/run that taught students about health while raking in donations for area food pantries.

More than 175 people registered for the trot, orchestrated by the Woodside School’s Health and Wellness Committee. The entrance fee for the event was a canned food item donated to the Sussex and Pewaukee food pantries.

Runners and walkers raced the circuit around the school, and for each lap completed, a ticket was awarded. Tickets were later used for a Thanksgiving giveaway.
