Two Visions for Wisconsin: Forward vs. Backward

It’s great to see the tremendous success Republicans have accomplished over the last three years. With the true reformer in Governor Scott Walker, and strong majorities in both the State Senate and State Assembly, many successful reforms have been put in place to continue moving Wisconsin forward.

However, Democratic Party Bosses have pushed millionaire Mary Burke into the race for governor. As a member of the failed Doyle Administration, she helped create policies that took Wisconsin backward. This is the same Administration that used tax hikes on hospitals, nursing homes, and even iPods to feed for their out-of-control spending.

In stark contrast, Governor Walker continually works to reduce the tax burden facing families and small businesses. His efforts have totaled over $1.5 billion and counting in tax relief. In addition, Governor Walker successfully pushed forth a $100 million property tax cut in bipartisan fashion, which passed in only four days.

When elected governor, Scott Walker was in a tough spot. Since the Doyle-Burke Administration created policies that left Wisconsin with a $3.6 billion budget deficit, Walker was left with the task of having to put our fiscal house in order. Without raising taxes, Governor Walker led Wisconsin out of its financial hole, which resulted in a surplus of $750 million.

Mary Burke is just another tax-and-spend liberal. Wisconsin had already endured enough of her policies in action and can’t afford to see them again. Under the guidance of Governor Walker, Wisconsin will continue to create a better environment for creating jobs and move toward prosperity. Wisconsin’s future is bright under Republican leadership as they prepare to continue success again next year. Let’s keep moving Wisconsin forward!
