Village Survey: What Should We Build at Madeline Park?

The Village of Sussex is attempting to figure a way to make unique, this time turning toward Sussex residents to shed some light on the space.

The recently created a survey to gather more insight on what residents would like to see at Madeline Park, in addition to how often they use the parks system in general. The survey consists of just nine questions, and Parks and Rec Director Amy Flaherty says she hopes to get a lot of feedback.

“We need your help to determine what types of activities you enjoy in the Sussex parks, and what potential amenities you would like to see added to Madeline Park,” Flaherty wrote when distributing the survey. 

The revitalization of the park is all a part of Sussex’s . The plan was kicked off in 2011 with the reconstruction of ,  and  parks.

The village has an $80,000 budget associated with park redesigns, and while Flaherty has been exploring numerous options for Madeline Park, none of them seem to stick. From for the nearby Bugline trail to , nothing has caught the Park Board’s eye.

The Parks and Recreation Department’s survey consists of questions like:

• What is the distance from your home to Madeline Park?
• What amenities do you utilize in the Village of Sussex parks you visit?
• What amenity or amenities would you like to see added to Madeline Park?

The survey will close on May 10 so Flaherty has time to compile and examine the results for the Parks and Rec board meeting on May 21. So take the survey and share what you voted for here in the comments. What amenities would you like to see at Madeline?
