PHOTOS: Occupy Protesters Call for Waukesha County Clerk's Resignation

Kathy Nickolaus has already stepped down from handling the recall election of Gov. Scott Walker after pressure from Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas.

About a dozen Occupy Riverwest protesters called for embattled Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus’ resignation Wednesday night, just over a week since the latest Election Night flub in the county.

With shouts of “Nickolaus, you look ridiculous,” the small group drew attention to passing traffic as they took their signs and stood in the grassy median on West Moreland Boulevard.

Vrakas' announcement came just two days after , when some election results weren't posted until 10 hours after the polls closed.

Nickolaus, who garnered national attention last April when her office made a mistake that , said she introduced new procedures during the April 3 election to follow guidelines set forth by the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board, which oversees elections in the state.

As a result, some elections results were not posted on the county's website until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Nickolaus told Patch April 4 she blamed the procedures set by the GAB for slowing down the vote counting.

She would probably still have been ok if she hadn't just screwed up the supreme court election a few months back and erroneously caused Klopperberg (sp?) to be announced the winner.

Who cares what their political affiliations are? She screwed up counting the votes and caused the wrong person to be announced as the winner and that alone is enough reason for her to resign and leave the job in more capable hands.

Why didn't anyone from blatch go and ask these protesters where they are from? Afraid to publish that most of them are from Shorewood? Better yet, why not go ask the ones holding up the "wisconsin for fair elections" signs if they are in favor of voter i.d. Maybe someone from blatch could have checked to see how many of them have recall walker stickers on their prius's?

Uh Randy; she was following the orders of your beloved GAB. My guess is she was sending a message by following the GAB to the letter. She told them they are nucking futs.

Waukesha was the only County ordered by the GAB to tape tickets to the walls for the vote tallying. Your trusted GAB spending our dollars wisely once again.
