Marketing Executive is Newest Village Trustee

Village Board appoints Cmeyla to vacant post because of his energy and professional skills.

Just as quick as a Village Board trustee position opened up, it has already been filled.

The board has unanimously approved appointing Matthew Cmeyla to a vacant trustee position brought on by the recent .

Cmeyla was selected because he was one of the top candidates for an earlier vacant position that was filled with the appointment of Trustee Bob Zarzynski, who replaced Greg Goetz, who was elected village president in the April election.

“He brings a ton of energy,” Trustee Pat Tetzlaff said of Cmeyla. “And he’s just interested in helping the community.”

Tetzlaff, who chaired the committee originally charged to find a replacement for Goetz, said the choice of initially choosing between Cmeyla and Zarzynski was difficult, but the board had gone with Zarzynski because of his financial background.

Cmeyla is the marketing director for Sharp Packaging in Sussex, and Tetzlaff said his background will be beneficial to the village.

Cmeyla has already been sworn in to the position and has begun serving.
