Goetz Wants More Efficiency in Payment Process

Village President ask trustees to streamline payment process for elected officials in order to free up staff work time.

Village President Greg Goetz is asking trustees to take a look at how elected officials are paid to see if they can make adjustments to how it’s done.

“It hasn’t been looked at in 15 to 20 years and I think it needs a little updating,” he said. “It should be a little more streamlined, so I think we need a few more numbers from our neighboring communities.”

Trustees and the president are paid by the amount of meetings they attend. But Goetz said the process is time consuming on staff who have to research minutes for all committee and Village Board meetings, so he wants to see if there is a way to pay elected officials without consuming large amounts of staff time.
