“The review board has to vote in a majority to allow the creation of a TIF,” Smith said. “You have representatives from all the taxing entities that must allow the creation of the TIF. The new review board will have an organizational meeting on July 24 at 4 p.m. At that time, they’ll approve the Sussex citizen who will sit on the board. The group will also attend on July 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the , and if everything moves forward, the board will have their final meeting in late August or early September to make the final vote on the business park.

However, Trustee Pat Tetzlaff reminded Goetz at the board meeting that although the new corporate center is on the fast track, everything should be considered thoroughly.

“While we have certain dates to meet and they’re coming up very quickly, I just want to remind us all, we said we wanted to move cautiously,” Tetzlaff said. “We have the dates to hit, and we’ll do it, but let’s remember the word ‘caution’ when we move forward with this.”
