Armory Park's Softball Diamond Converting to Baseball Field

The Sussex Village Board approved a conversion that would allow the field to be used for softball as well as baseball.

The softball diamond in Armory Park will be converted to also be used as a baseball field, reported Express News.

The Sussex Village Board approved the conversion last week. A portable mound in the diamond will be installed that will be used for baseball games and removed for softball games.

Express News reports that the decision came from increased youth hardball rental requests, increased number of teams and shortage of fields.
