Sue Freiheit, the village clerk, says voting has been steady at the Sussex Armory. She said there hasn't been a huge rush at any time throughout the day, and poll workers agreed. There have been 688 votes cast with more people constantly filtering in and out of the armory to cast their votes.

Voters have been visiting the polls, but the rush to cast a vote has yet to hit Sussex. As of 2 p.m., only 1,020 people visited the Sussex Armory to fill out a ballot, and according to Jeremy Smith, the village administrator, that's not unusual.

"I think we'll get about 35 percent of residents out here," he told Patch while exiting the armory. "About 1,000 people have voted so far, but the night rush hasn't happened yet."

The vote count is officially at 1,263 and it sounds like people are really taking the issue with Lynn Kristensen seriously. After talking with two random people, they each cited as the reason for not voting for her.

"I voted against her because she signed her name on the recall," said Susan (who refused to provide a last name to remain anonymous). "I'm not that well versed in the local elections, but I heard she signed it and that was enough to not vote for her."

Susan also said she voted for Rick Santorum, while another local man said he voted for Mitt Romney.
