Woman Accused of Passing Bad Checks at Piggly Wiggly
Suspect wrote three checks for $51 each on three consecutive days.
A 27-year-old Pewaukee woman is facing charges after she allegedly passed three bad checks at a Sussex grocery store.
Stephanie L. Keil was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court March 7 with three counts of issuing a worthless check. If convicted, she faces up to 27 months in prison and $30,000 in fines.

On Nov. 18, 19 and 20, Keil went to and wrote out a $51 check each time. All three checks were later returned to the store due to insufficient funds.
A letter was sent to addresses for Keil in Menomonee Falls and Pewaukee, which were later returned marked “return to sender.”

She will make her initial appearance in court March 26.
