Sussex Thefts Under Investigation by Waukesha County Sheriff's Department

Sussex women report items missing from vehicles, including credit cards that were used to purchase items in Pewaukee and Germantown.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating thefts from vehicles in Sussex and has a possible suspect, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court.

A Sussex woman living on Hastings Court reported March 18 that her wallet was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in her garage. Her credit cads were used at a gas station in Pewaukee, a Walmart in Germantown and at a Redbox video rental machine in Germantown, the affidavit states.

The suspect rented the moving Taken 2 from the Redbox machine, according to the search warrant. Cigarettes were purchased at the gas station and iPads were attempted to be purchased at Walmart.

A deputy located video surveillance of the suspect and traced the vehicle the younger male suspect was driving to his mother. An apartment manager where the young man lives on Clover Drive in Sussex positively identified him from surveillance footage. The apartment manager told deputies she is working to evict the man because he also is a suspect in wrongdoings at the complex, including breaking into vehicles, the search warrant states.

Another Sussex woman living on Clover Drive told Waukesha County deputies a GPS, a stereo and vehicle registration paperwork was stolen from her vehicle March 14. A young man matching the Hastings Court burglary suspect was walking in the parking lot acting nervous when she reported the theft, the affidavit states.
