Grady was pulled over Friday while driving in the 2600 block of West Clarke Street in Milwaukee after a police officer noticed he was driving without a seatbelt on. While the officer was approaching his car he noticed Grady reach to the floorboards and then behind his seat.

He and a passenger were then immediately ordered out of the car by the officer and when they opened the door, a strong smell of marijuana came from inside and a bag of the drug was also visible.

Police then discovered Grady also had 12 Oxycodone pills and five other painkiller pills in the car. In addition, he had $450 cash on him at the time of the incident, but police raised further suspicion because he said he was unemployed while being booked.

Police then searched his residence in the W24200 block of Main Street where they found an Ecstasy pill and Hydrocodone pills.

Grady said he takes 2-3 painkillers per day because of pain, but has been trying to stop in order to get his kids back. He also told police he’s a former drug dealer.

He was assigned a $5,000 signature bond Tuesday. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 16.
