Sussex Man Faces Drug Charges After Hitting Snow Plow
Four baggies found in suspect's jacket after accident involving Flight for Life
An 18-year-old Sussex man is facing drug charges after he was involved in a car accident with a county snow plow.
Mark A. Mayer was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana,and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia for having marijuana and a pipe made out of a Bic pen in his possession at the time of the accident. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison and $1,500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, at 11:10 p.m. Jan. 21, Mayer drove his vehicle into the back of a Waukesha County snow plow near Highway 16 and North Avenue in Hartland. Mayer had to be extricated from his vehicle and was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa via Flight for Life.

The complaint alleges officers found four bags of marijuana in Mayer’s jacket, which weighed 1.6 grams, 1.58 grams, 1.59 grams and 1.61 grams.
Mayer is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court April 6.
