Sussex Man Charged with Identity Theft

Authorities say 19-year-old ssed lost creditcCard to buy goods in Sussex, Germantown.

A 19-year-old Sussex man is facing identity theft charges for allegedly using a credit card he found in a parking lot to buy items at multiple stores.

Andrew E. Gribble was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of identity theft for purchasing items at stores in Germantown and Sussex in January with the credit card. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, Gribble told investigators he found the card in the parking lot of , W24N6522 Highway J, Sussex on Jan. 5 and then proceeded to use it to charge $298 worth of goods on the card.

The charges were discovered by the owner four days later, the complaint states, and investigators eventually caught up with Gribble Feb. 18 when he admitted to the crime.

Gribble is scheduled to appear in court April 11.
