Sussex Man Gets Pinched After Allegedly Bouncing Check

Suspect passes the bad check at Sentry in Delafield.

A 30-year-old Sussex man is accused of passing a worthless check at a Delafield grocery store in June.

Westley J. Murrenus II was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of issuance of a worthless check.

If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint: On June 15, Murrenus went to Sentry Foods, 3255 Golf Road, and wrote a check for $141.18 in merchandise. The check was later returned to the store. A letter was sent to Murrenus about the bad check and he did try to contact the store about the letter. He will make his initial appearance in court Nov. 12.
