Golf Course Worker Faces up to 11 Years in Prison After Bizarre Encounter

Drug charges filed against Muskego man after he approached woman whose home he had once burglarized.

A Muskego man who works at a Sussex golf course is facing multiple charges after being accused of staggering drunkenly toward a woman whose home he had once burglarized.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court:

A woman was jogging near Five Iron Way and Woodside Road in Sussex on Monday when she noticed Adam M. Kazmierczak, 27, staggering toward her and then stopping in the middle of the roadway. The woman recognized him as the person who had previously burglarized her residence, so she ran back home and her husband alerted police.

Police went to the where they were told Kazmierczak was driving a utility vehicle around the course. They then began looking for him, but shortly afterward, the woman’s husband called police again to tell them he just saw Kazmierczak driving the utility vehicle down Woodside Road.

Police soon found Kazmierczak, pulled him over and found a prescription pill bottle belonging to another man in the pocket of his shorts.

Kazmierczak, who appeared groggy at the time, told the officer the shorts he was wearing were not his, but when the officer asked him why shorts he was wearing had his ID in them, Kazmierczak told him “a lot of people share their shorts.”

Police also found another bottle of pills listed to another person in the utility vehicle. After contacting the person whose name was on the bottles of pills, he told police they had been stolen out of his vehicle while he was at Piggly Wiggly.

Kazmierczak was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of fifth offense operating while intoxicated, one count of operating a motor vehicle after revocation, one count of narcotic drugs, one count of possession of non-narcotic controlled substances and one count of misdemeanor theft. If convicted, he faces up to 11 years in prison and $33,000 in fines.

He was previously convicted of drunken driving in 2001, 2006 and twice in 2009. He also was convicted of burglary in 2007 sentenced to four years in prison.

He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
