Rash of Burglaries Reported in Sussex, Surrounding Communities

Suspects have been entering unlocked doors while residents are home, and stealing items of value quickly.

Homeowners in Sussex are now on a growing list of people target by a recent rash of burglaries, which have been occurring in surrounding communities.

Similar incidents have occurred in Menomonee Falls, Brookfield, Glendale, Bayside and Mequon, WISN reports. Residents in Brookfield are growing concerned and on high alert after two burglaries occurred in the Forest Walk condominiums. WISN has more on what homeowner's are experiencing in their city.

The suspects walk into the homes, and quickly nab a purse or other items of value and leave, police say.

On Friday, Falls police issued a notice that homes had been burglarized while the residents were home. Suspects simply walked in through unlocked patio doors. Police issued a warning reminding residents to keep their homes locked and secured.

It's unclear if the incidents are all related, but the departments are all working together to identify the perpetrators.
