Raccoon Execution

Saturday, Jan. 7 at 8:44 a.m.
A resident on the N71W23000 block of Homestead Road called police after he found what appeared to be a sick raccoon in his yard. Police already determined it was weird for a raccoon to be sitting in someone’s yard in the middle of the day, but even when they approached it, it didn’t run away. Police then took a broom and pushed it against the raccoon, and it still didn’t run away. In the report it also says, “At one point I was able to roll him onto his back.” Police determined the raccoon was indeed sick and shot it in the head.  Homeowners provided a garbage bag for its disposal.
