Police Investigating 12 Pound Pot Delivery

Sheriff's department is looking into a discovery of 12 pounds of marijuana that was mailed to a Sussex home.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident where someone apparently mailed 12 pounds of marijuana to a Sussex residence.

According to a search warrant filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court last week, on Nov. 16, the postal inspector at the Sussex Post Office branch contacted the sheriff’s department after the location got a suspicious 12 pound package set to be delivered to a home in the N6500 block of Bowling Green Street. The package had been sent from Live Oak, Calif., and was the second of its type to be sent to the same address in a week.

The suspicious package was then taken to the residence to be delivered, however, after 20 minutes no one got it, so the Waukesha County Metro Drug Unit took possession of it again.

The incident remains under investigation.

What tipped off the cops? The delivery of a case or Doritos the next day!

It's kind of scary that they're tracking what kind & how many packages people get. And I wonder what was suspicious about them.

Big Dave, the muchies joke is a little old and tired. However, it does highlight that fact that cannabis does have medical purposes as an appetite stimulant, among other things.

Packages aren't randomly tracked. Normally it's because someone is arrested and the arrested person gives info on a package or has records of packages. Another common method is K9 sniffing of packages.

Bucky, I am not following you. Who is supposed to wake up? Are you suggesting there are more drugs in the suburbs as compared to the city of Milwaukee?
Randy December 02, 2012 at 02:02 PM
I get what he's saying, but yet people are more concern with how much traffic the new store will bring in
Flora December 02, 2012 at 03:18 PM
Yes there are more drugs in the burbs than the city the only difference is that it gets more reports from the city because of racial profiling whitey sells more and deals more and doesn't get caught because he is the judge or the cop or the politican. Lmao some people need to ge out from under their happy rock and see the big picture...I for one think if this was legalized there wouldn't be this issue and if was regulated all them damn drug dealers and cartels would be out of business which means less illegals crossing borders and using our government resources by having children there....the truth is drugs will and always have been here nothing anyone does will stop it....

Illegal is illegal, there have been more than 80 deaths from drug use, overdose, in Waukesha county this year, several have been young people living in or from Sussex. Judges, law enforcement are taking a hard line on illegal drug use and sales, they want to save lives. Come on, 12 or 24 pounds of marijuana is a lot of pot, and is certainly not for personal or medicinal use. Whether young people are buying pot in the 'burbs and/or buying heroin in the hood, every death is tragic. Believe me if your kid. or a loved one, is using, you would want all this stuff off the street.

Let's not forget about all the teenagers that are currently using it and selling it in the burbs. In Muskego alone we have our share of kids using marijuana, popping pills and smoking or shooting up heroin. We've had a lot of kids that have overdosed on heroin. Parents go into wake up their son or daughter in the morning only to find a needle hanging from their child's arm barely breathing or they're too late. There are so many blind people who think that drugs do not affect our wonderful suburbs. We all need to keep our eyes wide open to this very unfortunate widespread drug abuse. These drugs know no prejudice!

12 pounds of pot? Thank goodness thousands of dollars and tens of investigative hours were spent to make us safe from this threat to our safety. I bet it was sent by terrorists.

Comparing cannabis and heroin is a bit of a stretch. it is similar to blaming guns for killing people when it is obvious that people kill people. Heroin kills people. Cannabis does not. I can see disliking manmade chemical drugs. However, the fact remains that cannabis has proven medical benefits--unlike alcohol. And nobody has ever died from cannabis itself--unlike alcohol. Educate yourselves. And consider that a small quantity of thc is better for you than a beer. it is frankly disturbing that our society has such an infantile view on mind-expansion and natural hallucinogens/psychoactives. It is not for everyone. But i am of the belief that cannabis, ibogaine, psilocybin, ayahuasca, etc should be legalized for medical use. God created them. And He does not make mistakes. Also, the Declaration of Independence was written on hemp and our founding fathers were known to indulge in cannabis. In fact, cannabis was legal in the U.S until the 1950's. I encourage you to research Terrance Mckenna. You do not have to agree with me--just keep an open mind.

I will say that i am glad the culprits were caught in this case, though. I am against advocates of irresponsible use. People should be mature about cannabis and use it for legitimate medical issues. Not for the sake of getting high.

Whitey Flora? Racial profiling isn't about race, it's about criminals. Criminal profiling is a behavioral and investigative tool that is intended to help investigators to accurately predict and profile the characteristics of unknown criminal subjects or offenders. Blackies sell more than caucasions, so your point is invalid. Why is it every day when I read the paper and get to the crime section, it always reads the suspects are black males or females? Get out from your "happy rock" and YOU take a look at the big picture!

I agree with you 100%, mdic , DMT and THC are both natural even though they have a chemical compound name, they two just need to be used recreationally in a controlled, safe eneviorment... and its not for everyone ! But, will expand, Thank you. I'm going to glady disconect now and enjoy this sunnyday
