Pewaukee Man Charged After Writing Bad Checks at Piggly Wiggly
Man, 27, purchased more than $500 worth of groceries in August using a closed checking account.
A 27-year-old Pewaukee man is facing charges after he bought more than $500 in food from the with bad checks.
According to the criminal complaint, William J. Liebert went to the store twice on Aug. 5 and purchased hundreds of dollars worth of groceries and wrote checks for the purchases each time. However, both checks were eventually returned to the store because the account was closed.
Liebert is charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison and $20,000 in fines.
