Fleeing Driver Dies After Rolling Vehicle in Town of Merton

Man was trapped underneath vehicle after trying to escape police, according to a news release.

Ronald Beasley III, 35, of Lyndon Station, died after rolling his vehicle while fleeing from police at a high speed  on Highway C in the Town of Merton, according to a news release from the Chenequa Police Department and Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers with the two agencies attempted to pull over a speeding vehicle at 1:02 a.m. Wednesday on Highway C near Maple Lane in Chenequa. Beasley took off at a high speed. A mile later, the vehicle went off the road, rolled over and trapped the driver underneath the car, according to the press release.

The accident remains under investigation. Beasley was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
