The responded to a structure fire in Lisbon near the corner of Hillside Road and Ridgefield Drive at 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, causing rougly $40,000 in damage, according to the Sussex Sun.
A Lisbon firefighter told Patch Tuesday morning that the home's pool deck started on fire, but investigators are still unsure what started the fire. The exact address is W250N7707 Hillside Road, according to the Sun.
The firefighter also confired the blaze wasn't very serious. It was apparently under control in 15 minutes.
While nobody was injured, Patch gathered from onlookers and police at the scene that this was not started by an adjacent grass fire. Local residents said they also suspected it wasn’t a serious incident as very little smoke billowed from the home before area firefighters extinguished the flames.
Area fire departments from Sussex, Lisbon and Lannon responded to the fire on Hillside Road just north of Ridgefield Drive. Police officers on the scene wouldn’t make a comment about the small blaze.
With lights flashing, squad cars blocked off the streets leading up to the home, but the Sun reports a large part of the approximately 800-square-foot deck was lost, trees above the deck were burned and a truck parked nearby was damaged.
