While nobody was injured, Patch gathered from onlookers and police at the scene that this was not started by an adjacent grass fire. Local residents said they also suspected it wasn’t a serious incident as very little smoke billowed from the home before area firefighters extinguished the flames.

Area fire departments from Sussex, Lisbon and Lannon responded to the fire on Hillside Road just north of Ridgefield Drive. Police officers on the scene wouldn’t make a comment about the small blaze.

With lights flashing, squad cars blocked off the streets leading up to the home, but the Sun reports a large part of the approximately 800-square-foot deck was lost, trees above the deck were burned and a truck parked nearby was damaged.
