Drunken Driver Tries to Pass Herself Off as Her Sister
Sussex woman first tells cops she wasn't driving; then poses as sibling.
Some people will do just about anything to get out of being arrested.
Authorities say that's what happened in the case of a 27-year-old Sussex woman who is facing her second drunken driving charge after another person spotted her driving down Waukesha Avenue to while intoxicated.
When confronted by police, Krystal T. Kompsi first denied driving and later tried to pass herself off as her sister, according to the criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint:
At 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, a driver noticed Kompsi driving erratically while travelling north on Waukesha Avenue. He saw her pull into gas station and he then called police.

Officers arrived at the gas station shortly afterwards and found her speaking with the clerk of the gas station with slurred speech. When asked if she had driven to the store, Kompsi said she had not, but the clerk said he didn’t see anyone else exit the vehicle.
The officer encountered Kompsi again at the Cousin’s restaurant attached to the gas station and asked her if she had driven there. She again said "no," and told him she had walked there from her house down the road.
There were no other customers in the restaurant or the gas station at the time, so the officer asked her whose car was in the parking lot. Kompsi replied that she thought it belonged to her father and that he had driven it there.
She finally admitted to driving the car, but then gave the officer her sister’s name. However, while being booked at Waukesha County Jail, a staffer found another identification card with her real name on it. However, Kompsi said that ID card belong to her sister, who had left it at her house.
After sorting everything out, Kompsi was charged Wednesday with one count of second offense OWI, one count of obstructing an officer, one count of operating a motor vehicle after revocation of her license, and one count of bail jumping. If convicted of all charges, she faces up to 30 months in prison and $23,600 in fines.
Kompsi is being held in jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
