Curtis On Pace to Return as Fire Chief Soon

Fire Commission approves appointing former chief back to his old position after short absence.

Former Sussex Fire Chief Colin "Corky" Curtis is on pace to return to his position in the next several weeks.

Village Administrator Jeremy Smith said the Fire Commission voted to name Curtis as fire chief pending a memo of understanding with village leaders.

after retiring from the Brookfield Fire Department in order to collect on his contributions to the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Deputy Chief Tony Emanuele has served as interim chief during Curtis’ absence.
