Craigslist Ad Leads Deputies to Stolen Laptops, Complaint Says

Quad Graphics employee is accused of stealing more than $12,000 worth of laptops from the Sussex business.

A 22-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of stealing six laptops and a projector from Quad Graphics in Sussex where he worked in July.

The total loss to the company was more than $12,000, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court.

Larry I. Miller is charged with felony theft, pssoession of amphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon. If convicted, Miller faces up to 6-¾ years in jail and $40,000 in fines. He remains jailed in lieu of $1,000 bail.

The electronic items were stolen on two separate occasions – around 4 a.m. July 4 and around 4 a.m. July 13. Both thefts were captured on surveillance footage, which showed a man wearing a Quad Graphics employee uniform, according to the complaint.

The computers were found on Craigslist. An undercover Waukesha County deputy met with the seller, later identified as Miller, to arrange the purchase, according to the complaint.

When officials moved in to arrest Miller on Monday, they found amphetamine on him, as well as a gun that he tried to hide underneath a seat in the vehicle, according to the complaint.

Miller admitted to the thefts from Quad Graphics, the complaint states.
