Brookfield Man Could Face Jail Time for Kicking Car at Sussex Bar

Suspect allegedly kicked the vehicle when the victim was leaving in order to avoid a fight.

A 24-year-old Brookfield man is facing two charges for allegedly kicking another man’s car during a fight outside a Sussex bar.

Michael A. Schroeder was charged Thursday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with one count of criminal damage to property and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, he faces up to one year in jail and $11,000 in fines.

On Jan. 21, Schroeder became involved in an argument with another man at , N64W22480 Main St. The other was trying to avoid a fight and decided to leave, however, Schroeder then kicked the car while the man was driving out of the parking lot.

The kick caused about $1,296 in damage. Schroeder later admitted to police that he did kick the vehicle.
