Obituary: Janet Ann Drasch

August 29, 1920 - January 12, 2012

Janet A. Drasch (nee Scheffner), with Jesus in her heart, went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 12 at the age of 91.

Janet was born August 29, 1920. Preceded in death by her husband and soulmate Clarence of 62 years. Loving mother of Thomas (Suzanne) and Susan (Richard) Odeja. Grandma of Amy, Tom, Tina, Tracy, Brian and Jennifer. Great-grandma of 11.

Cherished and loved by her sisters Eleanor and the late Evelyn. Further survived by her brother-in-law John Drasch, sister-in-law Delores, nieces, nephews and friends.

Janet and her husband had a dream of starting their own garden center, and in 1950 their dream came true. She followed her husband's dream and stayed working by his side for 40 years.

Their small greenhouse was located at 5600 W. Hampton Ave. in Milwaukee. There, they worked with each other and were successful at creating a wonderful business, which supported them and their two children. The business was operated only by family members.

They had many friends and customers that would come from miles away just to purchase their flowers and vegetables that they would raise from seed and nourish so they could be sold. They retired in 1990 and sadly closed the doors.

Janet has always missed her husband deeply and is now in Heaven growing beautiful flowers together. We will miss her deeply, but now they are together.
