SOS Fun Day Thank you

Dear Community and Business Supporters,

I wanted to extend my deepest gratitude to you for your assistance in making the second Sussex Outreach Services (SOS) Community Fun Day a success!  Thank you to the Business Sponsors for their monetary donations: Westbury Bank, Harder Funeral Home, Jo Mason-State Farm Agent, Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, Waukesha Metal, Vezzeti Family Dental Care, Jolie Aquino with Edward Jones, and Okinawan Martial Arts.  This year, we had some wonderful donations for our Silent Auction from: Suburban Painting Co., Becky C Photography, Ta Da Hair by Valerie, Central Bark Doggy Day Care Sussex, Ausblick Ski Area, Skin Tight Medi-Spa & Salon, Pampered Chef by Independent Director Jolie Fritz, Monacelli Stone, C’est Jolie Photograpie, Anton’s Salon & MSpa, Mt. Olympus Water Park, Milwaukee Brewers, Six Flags Great America, Silpada Jewelry from the Moore Family, and the Green Bay Packers.   Our raffle winners were thrilled to have prizes from: Pewaukee Sports Clips, Songbird Hills Golf Club, Piggly Wiggly, George Webb in Sussex, Tony Maronni’s Pizza, Su Casa II Restaurant, Rumors Sports Bar and Grill, Tailgators Sports Bar and Grille, Starbucks in Sussex, Happy Hookers baby layette, Milwaukee Public Museum, Hellman’s Driving Range, Shedd Aquarium, Adventure Rock, Marcus Theatres, Shear Talent, Hearts-Bears-and Other Affairs, Bilda’s Friess Lake Pub, and Sussex Antique Power Show.  There were six delicious food booths offered by the Sussex Leos, Christ Our Savior ELCA, Redeemer UCC, St. James, Pro Touch Kettle Corn, and Sussex United Methodist Church. St. James also provided 33 free meals this year.  Sussex Leos and other SOS Volunteers gave their time to the event.  The Sussex Lions donated their tables, chairs, and electrical cords.  Alex Knapp and his family provided the tunes!  Ace Hardware donated the use of their Bouncy House and Sno Cone Machine. George Webbs of Sussex and Culvers of Sussex sent their crowd pleasing Mascots.  Kid’s games and prizes were provided by: Pick N Save, VOWS, Brownie Troop #4583, Waukesha County Recycling, The Village of Sussex, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, and Lisbon Presbyterian Church.  Other fun activities included a kids craft by the Sussex Recreation Department, Emergency Vehicles provided by the Sussex Fire and Police Departments, Bike helmets by Pro Health Care, the popular face painting by Oakbrook Church, and a Hayride by the Sussex Antique Power Show.  The Sussex Sun provided extra flyers to help advertise and the Sussex Patch promoted the event.  Power Test Inc. hosted the administration of the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), an invigorating and healthy addition to the Community Fun Day.  Power Test agreed to donate money to SOS based on the participants’ scores on the APFT and the total raised was $605.30!  The list is indeed long, but it takes so many to create an event of this size.  Thank you to each and every one of you for your part in supporting Sussex Outreach Services and Food Pantry.  With our Business Sponsors, Food Sales, Silent Auction, and Raffle over $5600 was raised!  I must extend a special thank you to Mike Waltz, his support is priceless.  It is an honor to be a part of such a community as this one.  Thank you for supporting our mission to help those less fortunate.
