Wisconsin Deposit Interest Rates Beat National Averages

Top source for local interest rates, GoBankingRates.com, finds that average CD rates offered in Wisconsin are higher than the national average, while savings account rates fall just slightly below.

The Web's top source for local interest rates, www.GoBankingRates.com, examines the interest rates offered by local financial institutions in Wisconsin in its latest "Best Rates in Every State" series. The Go Banking Rates study finds that average CD rates offered in Wisconsin are higher than the national average, while the state's savings account rates fall just slightly below.

Go Banking Rates continues its “Best Rates in Every State” series by focusing on interest rates offered by local banks and credit unions in Wisconsin. The interest rate aggregating website compared Wisconsin's average rates on savings accounts, 6-month CDs, 1-year CDs and 2-year CDs against national averages, and ranked the state against the rest of the U.S. for each deposit product.

According to the rankings compiled by Go Banking Rates, using its database of interest rates from more than 4,000 U.S. banks and credit unions, average deposit account interest rates offered by banks and credit unions in Wisconsin beat the national average in all certificate of deposit categories. Savings accounts were about equal with a negligible .01% difference.
