Sussex Week Ahead: Turkey Hunting, Chili Cook-off and a New Play

Here's a list of things to see and places to be in Sussex this week.

Find the Hidden Turkey

Use your detective skills and find the laminated picture of a turkey that will be hidden in Sussex. The department is hiding the Thanksgiving bird starting Tuesday somewhere around Sussex. The parks recorded line will inform participants when the turkey has been found. Listen to the clues by calling the parks recorded line at 414-297-9090 after 4:00 p.m. Find the turkey and you’ll get a gift basket of goodies. New clues will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00 p.m. 

Village Board Meeting

Join the board members at on Tuesday at 7 p.m. to see what’s going on in your community. The chairperson from each village committee, like Public Works and Public Safety, will be gathering to share all the new and upcoming information about the village.

Teen Chili Cook-off

The heat is on, Sussex teens! On Thursday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. the will host a teen chili cook-off at the library. This free event will feature hot reads and even hotter food. Teens who attend can sample and grade the chilies, or submit their own recipe for judgment. For more information, call the library at 262-246-5182.

"Get Smart" Play

The Drama Department will perform a new play called “Get Smart” starting Thursday night at 7 p.m. The play will run until Sunday’s matinee at 2 p.m. The show, being performed at the , is a comedy adaptation from the 1960s TV series. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
