Sussex Week Ahead: Leaf Pick-Up, Shopping and a Veterans Ceremony

This is a list of places to be and things to do in Sussex this week.

Leaf Pick-up Begins

You know it’s fall when the village starts rolling out their massive leaf-sucking machinery. Halloween will mark the residents should start raking their leaves in piles at the curb. The village will be providing the service every day from Oct. 31 to Nov. 18, so don’t wait until the last minute!

Shop ‘Til You Drop

The Willow Springs Parent Group is happy to announce it’s 12th annual “Shop ‘Til You Drop” night at the on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Shoppers will have the opportunity to browse more than 40 home-based businesses at the school. Companies range from well-known retailers like The Pampered Chef to local and unique businesses. Best of all, a part of the proceeds will go towards funding activities at the school.

Templeton Veteran’s Day Celebration

will celebrate veterans on Nov. 4 at 8:30 a.m. during its 11th annual Veterans Day Program. The event is packed with entertainment. The middle school choir will sing, a veteran’s address will be made, the winner of the essay contest will speak and a photo production will be displayed. Veterans and community members are encouraged to come and show their love for those who served for America.
