Good morning Sussex, where no one won the Powerball grand prize last night.
The winning tickets - there were two - were sold in Arizona and Missouri.
The winning numbers of last night's drawing were: 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and Powerball of 6.
While nobody won the big prize in Wisconsin, a $1 million ticket was sold at the Speedway gas station at 9130 W. Oklahoma Ave., West Allis, the Wisconsin State Lottery said Thursday morning. That ticket matched all five winning numbers correctly but did not have the right Powerball number.
As of 7 a.m. Thursday, the person who purchased that ticket had not yet come forward.
Nine other tickets sold in won $10,000 and one additional $10,000 ticket was turned into a $40,000 winner because the player bought Powerball's Power Play prize multiplier feature, the state lottery said. Of those 10 tickets, two were sold in southeastern Wisconsin — one at a Citgo station at 3434 W. Oklahoma Ave. in Milwaukee and one at Piggly Wiggly at 2215 80th St. in Kenosha.
Heading into Wednesday's drawing, the Powerball jackpot had been $550 million, but a surge in last-minute ticket sales boosted the figure to $580 million.
Before Wednesday's drawing, the previous record jackpot was $365 million, and was claimed by eight co-workers in Lincoln, NE, in 2006.
Sussex was due for a big winner as only four $1,000 prizes have been won in the village in 2012:
- Sussex Liquor Mart: $1,000 Instant Jackpot winner in November.
- Sussex Liquor Mart: $1,000 May Raffle winner in June.
- Pick n' Save: $1,000 Match 1000 winner in March.
- Quarry Mart: $1,000 Match 1000 winner in Febuary.
