Sussex Woman Inspires Purple Stride Team To Raise Thousands

Holly's Purple Warriors raised $12,000 last year and hopes to do the same or more this year.

A Sussex woman, who died at the age of 54 from pancreatic cancer, has inspired her friends and family to form a team for the Purple Stride fundraising walk in Milwaukee, reported the Sussex Sun.

Holly's Purple Warriors, named after Holly Pietrykowski, raised 10 percent, about $12,000, of the whole walk's total in 2012 with almost a hundred team members.

This year the team's goal is to find a hundred people again and ask each person to raise $100.
