Sussex Residents Talk About Their Train Troubles

In Sussex, people talk trains a lot, but here's what they are saying.

Despite the "quiet zones," co-existing with trains is still a source of frustration in Sussex judging by the number of Twitter and Facebook comments.
We noticed a number of Twitter comments about people getting stuck waiting for trains and asked what areas are the most problematic. Here's what you said:

Whatsalizzy: Told another kid Sussex is the train Capitol of Wisconsin. Score.

Matthew Sonnenburg Silver spring east of Waukesha ave. every day, countless amounts of times. Stop in the middle of the road. Especially when the trains come every morning around 7 when the middle school and high school kids are commuting and the reckless drivers leaving their quad graphics shift are attempting to speed out into traffic. Someone is going to get killed on this stretch of road!

Gini Vilkoski It is HORRIBLE !!!!
Someone is going to be killed one of these days. I have seen so many cars get stuck on the tracks (including myself) because of the trucks coming in and out durning the busy times when traffic is heavy. I called the village once but there is not much they can do until more people report it.
The trucks from quad should only be allowed at certain times of the day. When I worked at a factory in West Allis they had a ordinance related to that but Sussex doesn't.

Jill Lane There really needs to be an exit point when a train comes through town. It's ridiculous that every intersection in town is blocked. I drive east to get to work and am so tired of getting stuck.

Mike Boehm Now that we have the silent crossings, I don't mind them at all. It'd be nice if there was a set schedule so you could plan for them. The main problem is if there's a really long train, there's no possible way to get around it since there are no bridges or anything in the area.

Here's a map of all of the trains that run in Sussex, which could help in planning your route. What times and areas seem to be the most trouble for you? Have you ever gotten stuck on the tracks?
